English: Hey! If you've tried typing Nepali in Photoshop and it looks messy or broken, don’t worry! Photoshop doesn’t work well with Nepali fonts like Mangal or Noto Sans Devanagari.
Here’s an easy way to fix it: just paste your Nepali text above and click "Convert Now" 💫. It will be changed to Preeti font, which Photoshop can display correctly. Then, just copy and paste it into your design. It’s simple and quick! ✨
Typing Nepali in Photoshop with Preeti
Typing with Nepali fonts in Photoshop or any graphics software means you should learn how to type using Preeti instead of just regular Unicode typing you've seen online. This means that online Nepali Unicode (like "मेरो देश राम्रो छ") is typing for the internet. Still, Preeti (like "s\] g\]kfn ;'g\]zL x'G5") is typing for actual coding, Photoshop, and Word.
To get started, you should download a Preeti font on your computer—Preeti, Ganesh, and Arap are compatible—and then learn how to type Preeti. For example, 'k' equals "क", 'l' equals "ल", 's' equals "स", and so forth. It might feel unnatural to type at first because it has an almost two-step process to get to the letters you want, but you'll gradually find that your speed increases the more you practice!
The goal is to practice every day! Preeti typing practice can include short words or full sentences like "s\] g\]kfn ;'g\]zL x'G5" in comparison to "मेरो देश राम्रो छ". From there, you'll memorize the keys.
Once you're comfortable typing, translate straight into Photoshop. Open the PS workspace and choose the Ganesh font; you can use any Nepali font but should have one downloaded from the fonts mentioned earlier. Type away like you would in English; it should be clean and come out perfectly!
If this is all new to you, keep a printed Preeti keyboard layout on standby; it's super helpful! You'll get used to it over time! It only takes consistent daily practice, and you won't ever struggle typing (or designing with Nepali fonts) again!
